When Christina Cruz of Christina Cruz Interiors set out to transform a 10,000-square-foot lakefront home in Austin, she wanted every material to feel pulled from the landscape itself. The Crystallo Ondulato Quartzite Stratus Surfaces supplied for the kitchen did exactly that.
The stone, dramatic movement and luminous in tone, became the defining element of the kitchen’s most ambitious moment: a sweeping backsplash and countertops that anchor the room beneath a newly vaulted, barreled ceiling. Cruz paired it with a zellige mosaic tile to soften its presence without competing with it. The result is a space that feels both grand and grounded.
The project earned the cover of Luxe Interiors + Design’s Austin + San Antonio RED Awards Issue — a recognition of design excellence across the region.
